Glacier National Park: The Vacation Ends

By
Home Builder with Retired

Today is the end of our two weeks on the road from Washington to Montana and around Glacier National Park on a Great Lodge Tour of our own making. Now it is home again and back to business as usual.

The weather wasn't perfect; a colder and wetter late summer in the park, but we enjoyed every minute and the time spent with my brother and his wife who joined us from their home in Minnesota.

What a fun time!   I love visiting Montana....Idaho and Montana used to have joint  Realtor conventions ...I still haven't visited Yellowstone but it is on my bucket list!

My mom and dad will be visiting there next week...i will tell them to bundle uP!!!

Deborah - I found it strange that Glacier doesn't have cell phone or wifi available for the guests but they do for the staff. They said that they want the guest to experience the park ala the 1950's. Why the 50's I wonder? Why not 1910, when the park was founded? But being unconnected for a week didn't hurt me any!

A little disconnection can be a good thing. :)  Sounds like a fantastic trip!  I haven't been there since I was a kid.

Kristen - Disconnected it good, to a point. It seems partly a ploy to use their phone system and making it a 50's experience allows you to ride in their 50's fleet of touring cars. Hmmmm.
