First Time Homebuyer funding is now available through the City of Gridley and City of Colusa. The program is funded by the State HOME Investment Partnerships Program and provides "silent" second mortgages to income-eligible applicants up to $75,000 or 49% of the purchase price, whichever is less. The City first-time homebuyer loan provides gap financing and must be coupled with a first mortgage. Interest rates are from 2-3% and monthly payments are deferred for 30 years. A small down payment is required as well as completion of a homebuyer education course.
