But I just cannot help myself. Here we go again with muckraking, finger pointing, and back stabbing.
I am, of course, talking about my family reunion. Or maybe I'm talking about elections. Who can say anymore?
Frankly, I don't give a rat's ...uhhh... whisker whom you vote for, just inform your self and vote for something you truly believe in.
I truly believe that Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 could effectively KILL Colorado's infrastructure and economy.
The breakdown on 60:
Provisions and Potential Impacts
- Allows those owning real property the right to vote on property tax questions
- Non residents can vote on community questions, including out of state property owners
- Cancels all voter-approved property tax TABOR overrides (aka de-brucings)
- Local voter decisions are un-done (some dating back to 1992)
- Limits future property tax TABOR override questions to 4 years.
- Local voter decision making power is limited.
- Limits future property tax increase questions to 10 years.
- Enterprises and authorities must pay property taxes and districts must lower their rates.
- Federal income tax liability may be increased because of fee increases; some local taxes are deductible, but fees are not
- Allows citizens in all taxing districts to initiate property tax decreases.
- Budget and financing decisions can be jeopardized by special interests.
- Cuts school district mill levies in half and requires state backfill
- Opportunity for state interference in K-12 education is increased because of larger state backfill
