"You've got the patience of Job!"
Just got an email from someone who sent me a short sale referral early this year. It was supposed to be a slam dunk - already pre-approved in the PFS program, priced ok for the current market, very motivated, helpful sellers, cute house, great location, what more could you ask for?
"Did you ever complete this?" I thought he was in touch with the referred client, but no, he was out of the loop. I checked, and last he knew we were closing on April 26th...then disaster struck, the buyer left, and we had to start over...that buyer left, and we were told by GMAC that we needed to throw in the towel, time was up for this FHA short sale...the family would have to accept a deed-in-lieu and that was that. I agreed - the appraisal was too high and it just wasn't going to work.
However, I talked to some of my friends at www.shortsalesuperstars.com, and they suggested just lower the price and submit an offer...the bank would probably accept it.
I lowered the price, found a new buyer, submitted to the negotiator, and we are closing on the 15th.
I gave him the latest update. He said, "You've got the patience of Job!"
I don't know about the patience of Job, but definitely the persistence of a bulldog!!!
