In the world of Northern Virginia Short Sales, nothing should surprise me anymore. I've been listing and selling Short Sales since 2007. You'd think things would get better over time, but sometimes they don't.
There are lots of things in life that don't get better with time. My eyesight for instance. I have worn glasses since I was in the fifth grade. I have come to dread going to eye doctor. In fact, that dread is going on right now since my appointment is scheduled for tomorrow. Seems the answer to the question, "Could my glasses get any thicker?" is always met with an answer I don't like. Yes they can. And having turned the corner to my forties, I suspect they can get more complicated...just like the latest Short Sales Listing I took.
For the last three or four weeks, I have been fighting with the bank to get keys to the property. The bank had pre-emptively changed the locks before foreclosing when the Seller notified them of his out of state job relocation. First, I had to convince the bank that they had, in fact, changed the locks back in mid-October. Yesterday, my phone call was finally met with someone who had the lock change noted on the account. So what if it was noted as occuring on the 3rd of November. It was noted. That meant someone there knew about it, and now I could get the keys. They are being Fed Ex'ed to me for delivery tomorrow.
That means bright and early Friday, I'll be able to get out to take pictures of my most recent Northern Virginia Short Sale Listing, get a lockbox on the door and let the world know about it. I certainly can't do it tomorrow, I'll be too busy hearing how much thicker my glasses are going to be and staying out of the bright light as my pupils will be the size of saucers.
