Economy could destroy some Middle GA charities and non-profits

Charities and non-profit organizations in Middle Georgia are experiencing large declines in contributions this year. Just as businesses depend on the holiday season to increase sales, charities & non-profits depend on the holiday season for donations.

Typically, many families in Middle Georgia, would make donations part of their holiday giving. However, with the weak economy, we have not only scaled back on our gift purchases, but on our charitable donations as well.

This holiday season, please give whatever you can spare.

Remember, donations do not have to be monetary. Gifts of clothes, toys, & food are always welcome. The Red Cross is desperately in need of blood donors, and area animal shelters are full of loving cats & dogs needing good homes.

If you are unable to give money, try volunteering. All organizations can use an extra pair of hands right now.

Please view the links below for local charities and non-profit groups that are doing great work in the Macon and Warner Robins area. This is only a small list and there are many great organizations out there dedicated to helping others in our community.

If you would like to add an organization to the list, please leave their name and contact info in the comments for others to see.
