Aloha: Warm Weather, Sunshine, Flowers & Sally Cheeseman

After a long, long day of flying we finally arrived in Hawaii and we were greeted with warm weather, sunshine, flowers and so much more. During our 12 day stay we met many wonderful people including ActiveRain's Ambassador, Sally Cheeseman.

My brother, Bob & his wife Katherine, flew in from Texas and arrived several hours later. In a series of Aloha posts I will share the highlights of our trip.

First, sunshine & flowers as we are more than a little deprived right now. (Erie, PA)

Suzanne--I am trying my best, but it is hard even inside during our long northern winters.

Steven--We stayed right on Waikiki for five days. Loved walking the beach. Enjoy your trip to Honolulu.

Wanda--the flowers were everywhere. Even the weeds along the road were beautiful.

Now that you point out the similarity between Dave's shirt & his flower, I can see it, too. Missed it.

Mary,

I've never been to Hawail but I am grateful that you didn't post any pictures of bird of paradise. I think those are kind of scary looking flowers, I'm also afraid of ostriches so maybe large birds towering over my head just unnerve me.

Have a great trip, your pictures look wonderful and even though its 67 degrees here in Central Texas, I sure do miss the ocean, so post lots of beach shots so I can live vicariously.

Barbara--Hawaii is such a beautiful place as I am sure most of the south Pacific is. Can't beat the weather, sun & flowers. The people are all so friendly. More later.

Tamara--Me, too. There are so many beautiful flowers everywhere. Like you I do like the ocean & will post more photos next week. For me looking at the pictures we took is a way to escape the cold temps back home in Erie, PA.

Marcia--Hawaii was a trip of a life time. Truly paradise. Make plans to go.

Russel--Yes, you are halfway there according to my map. We left Cleveland at 6:00 & arrived in Honolulu at 1:00 Hawaiian time (13 hours after we left Cleveland/six hour difference). GO, GO, GO. You won't regret spending the money or time.

Mary, you are looking great on the beach! I'm happy you had such a wonderful time.

Isn't it funny how we all have a dislike for certain things, Tamara above feels funny about bird of paradise flowers and I always thought Anthuriums look weird. Love orchids though! :-)

Looking at these pictures I am ready for sunshine, warmth and flowers.

We have none of the above. It's barely 20 degrees & snowy. I will post those pictures soon.
