Silverlake's "Le Pink and Co., Beauty Apothecary"'s cozy and adorable environment make you want to spend all day basking in it's smells. Home to all of the delicious staples (Dr. Hauscka, Rosebud lip balm, etc) and also to my new favorite line. Villainess. Let the blogging begin.

I was given a vial of Villainess' signature perfume oil (Villainess: "all ball gowns and combat boots. Raw, smokey leather and sweet vanilla musk engulfed in a sheer haze of exotic florals - ylang, neroli, jasmine, lilac and tuberose.") by a friend for Christmas.  I'm not really a perfume wearer.  I get tired of the scents too quickly.  But this?! I haven't taken my wrist away from my nostrils for a month.  These scents are so deeply bodied that there is always something new to discover in it's complex aroma.  I am absolutely hooked.  My only qualm is that they don't sell them in bigger bottles.  Although I'd probably bathe in it if they did, so it's all for the better.  Which brings me to my next product.  Their soaps! With Mango and Shea butters and unrefined oils like Rice, Jojoba, Castor, and Coconut in every bar. They're rich, nourishing and lather like a silken second skin.  Many have volcanic clays and organic additions to top it off.

All of the blends are available in both soap and perfume oil forms.  With a limited selection available in lip balms, body creams and srubs which I have yet to try.

Their vast array of scents range from super complex, like these beauties:

"Mall Santa" with the description of "The pervasive scent of cinnamon buns and cream cheese frosting, underscored with cheap whiskey, tobacco stains, toffee candies and delicious filthy lucre".

"Chloroform: Crisp cucumber, sickly sweet green vegetation, a dizzy whiff of violets, mind-numbing plum, and a stiff shot of anesthetising vermouth" ---YUMMMM!

"Canaan: Warm milk, sticky bronzed honey, succulent grapes and berries, and exotic perfume - Tunisian jasmine, tuberose, the indolent lily of the valley, and Madagascar cloves".

"Dulces en Fuego: Musky bitter chocolate sweetened with vanilla and touches of citrus then positively inflamed with black pepper and nutmeg".

To slightly simpler blends such as:

"Pyromania: Peculiarly spicy, warm black pepper, sweetened with brown sugar, and touched with a veil of smoke".

"Blood: A full-bodied spiced Merlot grounded in dry fig and inspired by a ripe bouquet of berries".

The two that sounded irresistably sweet and innocent to me are:

"Datura: An intoxicating blend of crisp, regal gardenia, sweet frangipani, verdant tuberose, and soft, beguiling pikaki lani".---Next on my tester list, most definitely

and "Bathory" with roses, carnations and an infusion of sandalwood.

Okay..... believe it or not, I didn't just list their entire inventory. There's more! Go! Run! Spoil yourself. Buy a bar for yourself and your less-than-favorably scented loved ones.  If you find your skin permanently adhered to your nostrils, don't say I didn't warn you.
