I met an inspector that made me realize why I love my job. Not one of my usual inspectors was available to do the job so I asked for a referral from my broker. Not knowing him at all made me worried because my client is a first time homeowner and wanted to be there for the inspection. I made sure to be there knowing I must resell this home every day till it closes. This inspector was very thorough and took time to explain all the mechanical features of the home in detail along with lots of smiles to put the client at ease. He printed out a report on the spot for the client, me and the builder. He also left a homeowner package with maintenance schedules and lots of great info. Both my client and I were impressed. He is now on at the top of my list for inspectors. My hats off to you for a job well done!!
Thanks Melissa, change is good.
Hi Jennifer, yes we always provide three :) and not only did I send him a note but a Starbucks card too.
Hope you all have a wonderful day.
I will work with any Inspector, of course. I appreciate my most regularly used Inspector who is with HouseMaster. Bill is very serious about each item to be inspected and explains in as much detail as the client needs. He is also available to clients after closing for consulting. HM guarantees their inspections and indemnifies re agents. Harmony is good. Charging towards the finish line (Client Care) with professionals you trust is critical.
Yet, I agree with you as well, Jennifer. I have met some fine professionals through clients that I would not have otherwise met.
Good post. I have met many home inspectors. I let my clients pick them so that I am not to blame in any way for any unseen items or problems missed on an inspection report. Because I don't use the same inspector or group of inspectors I have met many. Some are good and some are better. It's good when you know your client has picked a better one.
