I know what you're going to say....it's not about the points

I've yet to write a post involving Activerain's scoring system without the inevitable "it's not about the points" responses.  Well I just can't help it...I'm a goal oriented person and I love the points.  Without question it helps keeps me blogging and we all know the benefits of that, but without that target it's just not something I would do as often.  What can I say.....I love keeping score!

I enjoy seeing my point total go up a bit each day.  I've overtaken 50 others this month and have about 2,000 points remaining to jump past the next one.  It's not all about points but I do so enjoy getting them.

I'm points obsessed, too.  I'm #3 in my City after a long ActiveRain absence and I'm going after #1 who is about 5000 points ahead of me.  My secret weapon will be to quietly blog her out of the way while I blog my way to the throne of page one on google :).

Points are a way of keeping score....having goals is great as they keep us motivated....knowing how to get points means we are diligent about the PROCESS on ActiveRain and can make our content more VALUABLE to readers and subscribers

I agree....it's not about the points...but they sure do make it fun. I also am a goal-oriented person and the points give me a way to mark my progress. I have about three goal-oriented goals that I am working towards. I can attest that the points have helped me to stay motivated while I get started blogging. :)
