Economic pressures, legislative changes, market conditions, financing woes, legal matters, etc can pile up into a downright depressing attitude for us if we are not on our guard at all times.
I always smile, joke and laugh and believed myself to be the ultimate optimist and positive person until I did a little introspection. You might find what I did when you look closer. Do you ever have a good reason to write a note or letter about unfair treatment or substandard service or products? I sure have over the years but I didn't find the same urgency to write a positive note or letter for service that was as expected or better.
I have a rule with myself, before I write, call or address a negative situation in my life, I first require myself to write, call or address two positive situations first. I can't tell you how much this has helped me be just as careful on the lookout for exceptional products and services as I always was cautious of the problems that can and do exist.
Dealing with clientèle this makes for some great medicine. Two positive for every one negative has been great therapy for me. Try it, you'll like it! I've found out how much more great experiences I have than otherwise these days.
