I spotted this post and had to re-blog it.

I enjoy learning and feel its something we all need to do constantly. Technology changes everyday, scientist make new discoveries all the times. Keeping up can be a challenge.

So how do you keep up?

Create a plan, plan to learn each day. I like to schedule 30 minutes to an hour each day for education. BTW-Active Rain is a part of my learning plan. The members here post man useful and great information. Without Active Rain it would be very hard for me to keep up with the newest technology. So Thank you AR and members!

In this business it takes time to be really good – and by that time you are obsolete.

There have been times, as I go through each day that I have wondered how long it takes to be really, really good in this business. The one thing that I have come to understand is, it takes a lot of time invested in my own growth and development to be really good.

If I would be given the choice I would take really good over being obsolete. I don’t like the thought of being of no use to anyone.

Stop and think about some of the old brands that are no longer around. Could it be that they became obsolete because they didn’t stay in touch or keep up with changing wants, needs and trends?

With the continual changes that our profession will see not only now but in the future it will pay to continue to grow and develop. I’m not getting any younger ya know.

Staying on top of technology is a large part of not becoming rusty and obsolete...hard to do as a KW agent...it's all there to absorb....

Seems like I go through it three times a week. A new web site to navigate, a new site to find Etc.

I try to keep up, but there is just too much out there to "keep up". When a client calls and says have you tried "this", I say no not yet. If I try it I might forget how to do something else. Sad but true.
