April 16, 12-6 PM, Yonkers, New York - The Science Barge opens on Saturdays and Sundays. The Barge, a prototype urban farm docked on the Yonkers Waterfront, is the only functioning demonstration of renewable energy supporting sustainable food production in New York. It has a hydroponic greenhouse and all the energy needed to power the Barge is generated by solar panels and turbines. $3 suggested donation.
