Yes...I do work weekends! That is my claim to fame and I use it in all my adds so when I received a call yesterday to show a house this morning, I was all in. I should have known when I went to leave and Mother Nature played a little prank. She hid the green grass of yesterday and replaced it with a nice coat of snow. Not overly excited about driving 50 miles in the snow/freezing rain mix I took off early so as to get there on time. When I arrived I noticed yet another little joke had been played the key the office sent me with didn't fit the lock. It actually had a lock box on it. So I spent the next half hour calling around for a combination. Ok...we're in. Well actually I'm in. Waiting...waiting...yup as one might have guessed it was a no show by the buyer. I actually chuckled a little about everything that happened as I was leaving the drive I took this pic and emailed to the buyer to let him know the fun he had missed. I am almost glad he did miss the appointment as the way this day started who knows what would have happened if he had made it. Good news is as fast as the snow came in it was gone again and the green is back, hopefully to stay for a while this time. Best of luck in all you do and thanks for reading.
Glad you can still find your sense of humour.. it's hard sometimes. Keep smiling!!
Good think you can do this with a smile. Did the buyer respond to your email??
Emily: I actually was thinking how lucky I was that I have only had 2 no shows in over 5 years. It was definitely a comedy of errors.
Dawn: Nope. He will probably respond tomorrow when he returns to work. W will see.
I hope he sees the value in having you as his agent Randy. To go 50 miles in the snow and rain on a Sunday shows that you are committed to helping him find suitable housing. You've earned a spot by the fireplace, relax and take it easy for the rest of the day.
We had a monsoon in Central PA yesterday. I would guess that there were 1000's of people that had NEVER had water in their basement that had water in their basement yesterday . . . the sad thing is that more than likely none of these people had flood insurance, so the cost of damage won't be covered.
We had a quick snow like that earlier in the week as well. Sounds like we have some rain coming in tomorrow night. I am ready for warm, sun and no more wind.
Randy...please keep it up there.....It was 67 here and beautiful.....hope your Spring is near!
Hope you have a great day!---Rob
We finally have spring weather in Maryland. I hope you will be taking flower pictures very soon. I hope we not longer need to use the snow shovels this season.
Blooming for home buyers!
You sound like a guy who can make lemonade out of any situation. I'm sure you have far more hits than misses.
Randy I can tell you that the snow and ice are the 2 things that I don't miss the most about not living in Michigan anymore. As Gomer would aay "Suprise, surprise, surprise." Glad it came and went in a heartbeat.
You kept a great attitude through it all Randy. Bad weather, access issues, and a no show...at least you were available!
Rand, I had to check the Date of your Post, just to make sure I was not reading a February Post of your:))) Well I was a bit cold (it was cloudy & 67 degrees) as I was meeting a client at the Santa Monica Fairmont.... BTW what I really want to know did the client call and say they appologize and can not make it??
Hi Randy, what a dirty trick Mother Nature is playing on a lot of us! I'm ready for full on spring;)
Randy ~ I love your attitude in the face of all those obstacles, good for you!
Randy ~ I have had those days and if you don't have a sense of humor in this business, you'd go crazy! If the buyer didn't call you back, he was probably embarrassed.
Randy,
I hope this post on your Blog spreads faster than snowflakes all around your area. All the prospective Buyers and Sellers need to know, when it comes to selling Real Estate, you're the man who will go the extra mile, rain or shine, snow or winter blows, you'll be the one to get the job done!
Great story of determination and commitment! I am going to click suggest.
