Are you the one that went #2?

"All I ever really needed to know I learned in kindergarten", Robert Fulghum once said.  Play fair.  Don't hit people.  Put things back where you found them.  Clean up your own mess....and flush.  So why have some showing agents forget these things?

In addition to the common-sense rules that Fulghum wrote about (which also included the "don't take things that aren't yours" idea that he sort-of plagiarized from God), I'd add a few items:

If you turn it on, turn it off.

If you open it, close it.

If you unlock it, lock it.

If you move it, move it back.

....and prior to using the restroom, ensure that the water service is on.

How many times have you visited one of your listings and found the lights on?  Ceiling fan humming along on "high"?  A/C turned down to 65?  Patio door left ajar?  Combination lock left set to the actual combination, or door simply left unlocked?  These are but a few examples of how well-mannered kindergarteners have grown up to be poor-mannered showing agents.

Impolite at best- and financially devastating at worst, we owe each other and the profession much more.  We need to leave each other's listings as we found them and hold others to doing the same, make one small step towards leaving the profession better than we found it.

Now....which one of you went #2 in my toilet yesterday?

These things are so true.  If you have ever watched Larry David on TV you know what his show is based on.  If you haven't your in for a surprise.  He is the funniest man on TV.

Hi, Ronald:  I have seen Larry David a few times.  He's a funny guy- but the still under-rated Jim Parsons from The Big Bang Theory might just top my list right now.  Thank you for your comment and kind words.
