Why do I love the rain?

Why do I love the rain? I'll tell you why.

Every time I schedule an inspection and the day of the inspection arrives with a forecast for rain or worse yet, it's actually raining, I get a frantic phone call from the client, the client worrying that their inspection just has to be cancelled because what kind of an idiot would go out and walk around a house in this weather and how are they going to get the inspection report back in the 5 day window since the offer was accepted? Never fails, even though I told them on the appointment call that I will be there rain or shine.

Well, I'm just the kind of an idiot that loves doing inspections in the rain. Not lightning rain, but regular everyday rain, and I am now able to see all the best that house has to offer that I would never see on a perfectly sunny dry day.

I get to see things like a leaky crawl space or a dripping roof or sump pumps that don't pump. Remember the #1 rule about water. WAW. That stands for Water Always Wins. Believe me, I've tried to beat water, and lost every time.

So tell your clients that they don't have to stand in the rain, that's my job.

For the best in rainy day inspections, call me today to schedule at 815-644-6271.

Water was actually running through this wall at 5 different locations.

Scott- When I saw the title of this post, I thought you were going to write a blog about why you love Active Rain! It made me smile when I realized you were talking about the REAL rain. Thanks for a chuckle.

Scott, you just got a new subscriber.  I admire inspectors who aren't afraid to get wet (or dirty).  And the dryer lint post was great, too.  Thanks.

Youre welcome Don, I actually started keeping an extra change of clothes so I can do 2 inspections a day and look fresh and clean at #2.

Scott -- Good point.  Rain has a way of bringing out latent issues. I say what you say all the time -- Water ALWAYS Wins!
