A lot of people are just like you
I talk to a lot of people and right now, a lot of people are hurting from their real estate investments. Of course, not everyone is. Some are doing quite well in real estate right now but I think we can all say that is the minority. You can see it all around you that there are a lot of people looking for new ways to make an income.
Here are my 5 tips for those that may be struggling in these markets:
- Use the law of attraction more than ever. Focus on what you want, not the things that you are frustrated with. There is no reason to complain to friends and family, you will only attract more things to complain about.
- Keep Marketing! We had Sandy Stilwell of Stilwell Enterprises speak at our wealth club the other night and she said she boosts her marketing during the tough times. Pulling your marketing back during tough times is shooting yourself in the foot. That does not mean keep putting money into marketing that does not get a return, be frugal and wise in your marketing dollars but do not stop marketing!
- Consider offering owner financing for your homes. Now that the lending industries are tough, especially for people that are stated income or non-stellar credit. You may be able to find potential home owners by simply saying no banks required, owner financing available.
- Keep track of your time. Create a spreadsheet that tracks every 15-30 minutes of your time and do this for one week. Then, go back to that sheet and see if you are doing the things to bring in extra money, or, if you have a lot of wasted time in there. This exercise has helped me tremendously.
- Consider an easier way to make money. I worked with a lot of you over the past couple years in real estate and even during 2006, we did a lot of business. However, I have always believed in working smarter rather than harder. Right now, for most of you, myself included, real estate is hard work. This year I changed my identity from real estate investor to Entrepreneur. An Entrepreneur can thrive in any market. An Entrepreneur is not limited to just real estate. Working with a lot of you, I have built multiple streams of income outside of real estate. You can too.
