HOUSE FOR RENT ON CRAIGSLIST CONSUMER FRAUD IN YOUR OWN NEIGHBORHOOD
It was another normal Saturday afternoon in my neighborhood. I was on the computer following up with Emails and submitting offers on properties. Then, my son informed me that there were six cops cars down the street. Wow, this never happens in my neighborhood. So, we proceed as a family to embark what is going on. Yes, all of our neighbors were out inquiring about what was all the excitement about in our quiet little neighborhood.
We found out that two men had rented out the home and they were moving into the home. They informed the police officers that they had signed a rental lease and paid first and last months rent. There was only one problem with this scenario. The person was not authorized to rent out this house. It was an Arizona foreclosure that was owned by the bank. The Realtor called the police because the renters refused to leave the home because they really believed that they had a legitimate rental lease.
Well, things began to heat up in Phoenix, Arizona. The one renter decided to jump on his motocycle to leave the premises. Three policemen surrounded the person on the bike. He refused to listen to the policement. Well, this person became immobilized after the one policeman pointed and shot a Taser gun at him. Now, we had three more police cars show up and one big fire truck. Both people were put in back of the police car to be taken to the local police station.
