Buffalo Grove's Willow Stream pool is now open and is better than ever was written by Mara Somlo, Senior at Stevenson High School and Judy Greenberg, Buffalo Grove Realtor.
Although having a delayed openning due to a mechanical problem, the Buffalo Grove Park District opened the new and improved Willow Stream Pool at the beginning of June. The long wait was well worth it. The Willow Stream pool features a new blue waterslide that is bound to intrigue all thrill seekers.
The past year's renovations also features a ramp entrance to the pool to make it easier for people with disabilities to access the area, as well as refurnished changing rooms. Officials have reported that everything except the original pool and bathhouse structure is new, including the drains and diving boards!
My family and I are especially excited to have a clean, safe and fun place to spend our summer vacation. The Willow Stream Pool was originally built in 1972, and was in much need of the renovations. The Buffalo Grove community is thankful for the discounts and passes to local pools and health clubs while the construction was being completed.
