The Stone House  tour in Hurley NY is this Saturday July 10th.   This is a quaint town in Ulster County NY and there are 10 of the oldest Stone Houses in the US right on Main Street, so Main street is on the National Historic Landmark registry.  Imagine the rich history, and these 300 year old Stone Houses are just a part of the charm of this town.Stone House Tour ----

This is the 60th year that these tours have occured; therefore  Saturday is a wonderful opportunity for you to see the private Stone Houses, access granted just once a year.

Here is a list of the Stone Houses on the tour:

Matys Ten Eyck - Buit in the 1700's, was home to a Hurley Landowner.

Dr. Richard Ten Eyck-  Built in 1786 and was a wedding present for his wife.

Elmendorf House- Built 1783.   This is now home to The Hurley Heritage Society Museum.

The Van Etten - Built 1685 and is the Oldest Stone House in Hurley.

Jonathan Crispell-Built 1725, sold in 1836 and became a parsonage.

The Patentee Manor

The Jan Van Deusen House- Built 1744.

 

Besides the home tours, there will be many other events, so plan to spend the day in Hurley.

Jennifer - that would be so great to take a tour like that and see all these great older homes.  Are the intereriors remodeled so just the outsides are kept in line with the historical society's guidelines?
