The Old Reticular Activating System Working Or

By

It is hard to tell.  Is it your reticular activating system or is it the law of attraction drawing you to what you pray for and think about?

As I started to blog and write and learn about better writing, everything I read recommended a book by E. B. White, "The Elements of Style".  The Orlando library did not have this book.  Oh Joy, last Saturday I was at a garage sale. There it was for twenty five cents.  The smallest bill I had was a five. The owner just gave it to me.  What a deal.  What are the odds?  You want a rare book.  God delivers it to you for free.

This is not a book to read.  This is a book to own.  It was originally written in 1919 by William Strunk.  It was revised by E. B. White in 1972 at the behest of Macmillan Publishing Company.  E. B. White also wrote "Charlotte's Web" and "Stuart Little".

If you are interested in improving your writing style and grammar, find this book, "The Elements of Style" by E. B. White.

Ron,

As a writer myself, The Elements of Style, is the book to own for the basics of English grammar and punctuation. It has been recommended over and over in my writing courses throughout college and graduate school.  I still have to flip through once in awhile to refresh my memory on rules.  Another great book to have is Grammar Girl's Quick and Dirty Tips for Better Writing.  This one focuses a lot on word choices that often get misused in everyday writing. It's another must have reference book in my opinion.
