Want to try a very good Sushi Restaurant in Bolton?

Sushi Hama

My wife and I have acquired the taste for and appreciation of Sushi and Sashimi over the last decade. We have tried Japanese restaurants in areas of Southern Ontario stretching from Hamilton to Peterborough to Barrie, and our favourite (at least tied for number one) Japanese All-you-can-eat Sushi restaurant happens to be Sushi Hama, located on the west side of Hwy 50 in the south end of Barrie.

At first, we loved the ambience and the pace of the restaurant. When we are dining alone, we tend to appreciate a quiet restaurant with soft music, a relaxed pace and good service. Sushi Hama wins on all counts.

Equally important is the quality of the food. Some all-you-can-eat Sushi restaurants tend to overdo the rice component in sushi, maki, and hand rolls. Sushi Hama does not.

They are reasonable and offer a "diamond lunch" special. Currently, for $2.00 more, one can have the dinner menu during lunch hours.

The price of the lunch or dinner includes most pop and tea and dessert.

I would recommend Sushi Hama as good value and overall experience.

That will be where I'm going to eat when I'm in Bolton Chris, I do love a good sushi meal. It's funny how most people turned their noses up at sushi 10 or 15 years ago, but now most people seem to like it.

Hi Chris,  Sounds like a great place to try and enjoy lunch or dinner.  Can not go wrong with the menu.

Malcolm, there are three sushi restaurants in Bolton, but I think, overall, you cannot go wrong here.

Will, we have realized how healthy sushi is.

Great localism post Chris - maybe one of these days I'll get around to trying sushi - I'm still one of those turned up noses.

(Oh by the way - thanks for re-blogging my decorating dimensions post!)

Hi Chris - While I am not personally a sushi fan, I thought your restaurant review was well done.

Peter and Linda, you are correct, this is the third iteration of a restaurant.  originally  it was built as an Italian Restaurant.

Karen, both of us did not eat sushi when we met.  My cousin and her husband introduced us to it about eight years ago.  I was more daring, and after I acquired the taste for sashimi, started introducing Helen.  At first all she would eat were the cooked dishes, eventually trying rolls with both cooked and raw fish.  Now she loves it.  Sushi can be very healthy food, I would recommend going with people you know who like sushi to introduce you to the food.

Marc, I remember a motivational speaker I heard in the eighties telling us that we should not close our minds to things, we lose much of the quality of life that way... She said our tastes and likes change over time, and that many times, what we tried and did not like years ago, we might love, if we were to give it another chance... for me, a recent change has been Jazz, a musical genre I could never appreciate until very recently.

Been there once and it was awesome!!! it is a few dollars more then most all you can eat  but the food is good .We are going tonight :) Only thing I found was they don't have enough servers to cover the patrons and it is busy so sometimes service was slow . The owner spoke to us and he was great .

Melissa, My wife and I have introduced many people to this great Bolton restaurant, and now it is my parents favorite also...  You are right about the service being slow at times, but I will put up with it for the quality of the meal.  By now, we know everyone that works there...

The diamond value gives you the dinner menu during lunch hours for only $2 more than the lunch menu, and is the best value we have found anywhere!

Have you tried the Beef Sashimi here?  Let me know your favorite dishes...

Another very good sushi restaurant we go to is Akira Sushi on Mulcaster Rd in Barrie.  I will write about that one later this month.  Enjoy your dinner =)
