56th Annual ROBBINS Farmers Day Weekend

It's that time of year again! Time for the Annual Robbins Farmers Day Parade & Weekend of events!!!

The events start tonight, Friday Aug. 5th, at 6:00pm featuring:

4 Different Bands
Pottery Auction
Cloggers
Fire Fighter Challenge
AND Fireworks at 10:15pm

The events start up again on Saturday at 9:00am. Make sure you get there early to get a good spot to watch the Farmers Day Parade (it's AWESOME). For more information and a full schedule of events go to www.RobbinsFarmersDay.com

Michelle - Cloggers are folks who 'Clog'. Clog Dancing is basically a very HIGH energitic form of tap dancing performed by a group of people. It's a lot of fun to watch!

Didi - Odell is one of the main attractions...He has his horses/mules so well trained that they can stack a whole forest of logs into a neat and tidy pyramid. It's something to watch!

Belinda - I guess I'm a little surprised that some folks aren't familiar with Cloggers...but, then again maybe I'm not surprised. It has been a very popular form of dance here around the Appalachian mountains since the 18th centruy. It's really all about the sound created from the striking of the floor with the toe & heal of ones shoe.
