Yesterday, I stood in the yard of my featured listing - 1014 Cheyene Road, Glenville, NY - talking to the lawn maintenance guy - Michael, of Reliable Lawncare (who I highly recommend, by the way!) - when suddenly both of us stopped talking and started looking around the yard trying to figure out what the noise was that we were hearing. It took a couple of seconds before we both whipped our heads around and stared at the acres of woods behind the house, then said at the same time - It's raining over there!
We actually had time to turn and run towards our cars and grab our umbrellas before the rain reached us at the driveway, about 100 Feet from the edge of the woods.
When I told my husband about the experience - labelling it my new kind of "Active Rain" - he wasn't impressed. He said he remembers a few times growing up when it rained on one side of the street, but not the other.
Don't get me wrong - I know "weather moves". I've obviously seen storm clouds draw near, and once or twice, I've driven into a storm from a more sunny area - but I've never before experienced the sense of the rain racing towards me across a yard. (We're kind of sheltered here in Upstate).
"Active Rain" was the first thought that popped into my head. (Is this one of the signs of an addict?)
I know some of you cynics are out there rolling your eyes and thinking, "Wow. She doesn't get out much". So - tell me some of your Active Rain weather moments. I'd be happy to hear them.
