Congratulations are in order - NEWSWEEK magazine has once again acknowledged Palos Verdes Peninsula High School as one of the top 100 public high schools. PV Peninsula is again recognized as #60 in the country and 5th in California among all public, comprehensive, magnet and charter high schools. What a spectacular accomplishment.
NEWSWEEK has been ranking the top U.S. high schools for more than a decade and revamped its methodology for 2011 by using the criteria of six components: graduation rate (25%), college matriculation rate (25%), and AP tests taken per graduate (25%), plus average SAT/ACT scores (10%), average AP/IB scores (10%), and AP courses offered per graduate (5%).
