Mocksville NC is the county seat of Davie County. The area is rural but only about thirty minutes from most of the major cities. Winston Salem, Salisbury, Statesville, High Point and Greensboro are all a short commute away. Many of the residence of Mocksville work locally while others commute to the cities.
As a former resident and member of the Mocksville NC community I can personally speak to the community. The only high school in Davie County is located in this city. Likewise, the Davie County schools central office is located in Mocksville. Many people relocate to this county for the great school systems as you can see from the community reports. 
Mocksville NC is one of those big little towns that is a great place to live. The people are nice, the passion for their community and history runs deep. For example, while driving around the county you will likely see bumper stickers and window decals that read "DC." This of course is for Davie County, not District of Columbia!
Another fun fact about Mocksville, NC is that Thomas Ferebee was born and raised in a farm house just outside of town. So who is he? He was one of the crew on the Enola Gay that dropped the atomic bomb on Japan. You might even drive across the Thomas Ferebee bridge.
