Georgia Dream Homeownership Program continues to be a viable option to assist homebuyers in the purchase of their first home. The program provides $5000 or more to qualified buyers to be used as down payment and/or closing costs. For many of these buyers the funds from Georgia Dream Homeownership Program can make or break a deal. I encourage my buyers to take advantage of the program while it is still available.
Georgia Dream Interest Rates
The interest rate continue to be at 5.00% for the second week since dropping below 5.185% previously. This rate is the lowest I can recall in the history of Georgia Dream. While this interest is slightly higher than what a buyer might qualify for using FHA financing with 3.5% down payment, the buyer does get to keep those funds in his/her pocket so to speak and have access to what Georgia Dream provides.
