Wake Forest, NC is gearing up for the 3rd annual Buddy Run 5K and food drive! Over 200 local children are fed by this event and the proceeds are divided among the Wake Forest, Rolesville and Wakefield backpack Buddy and Track Out Tummy programs.
Things to do in Wake Forest, NC

A very worthy cause and perfect time to grab your sneakers and food to donate on Friday, September 16th. Enjoy an evening of activity with the Town of Wake Forest! There are a number of different races to choose from:

new 2 mile Roller Run for skates and scooters
5K chip timed run
a 3.1 mile run on a greenway through Heritage Wake Forest
a 1 mile family walk
50'ish yard itty-bitty-buddy-dash

A bounce house for the kids, and afterward some delicious BBQ and snow cones available for purchase from Big Al's BBQ and Kona Ice.

As far as food donations, they're looking for easy to open, no preparation needed, non-perishable items. The general guideline is... if a kindergarten-aged child can open and eat the item on their own that's a good donation. A list of recommended foods can also be found on the website.

Parking will be available on the residential streets around the venue as well as at the Heritage View Clubhouse at 1037 Marshall Farm in Wake Forest, NC.
