It is easier than you may think and every day I see real estate practitioners doing just that. Showing to the world that they are not worth a penny. That they are naked kings. And then we are surprised that general public have very little respect for us.
I ran into a question on Trulia today, and it was from a guy who wanted to finance a multifamily for $2 Mil with no more than $200K down payment, and, as he put it, he did not want to be cheated.
So, I went to read the answers, and the first one was from a professional, and made all the sense in the world. It is not about cheating or being non-resident. It is about buying a multifamily with 10% down. Which pretty much is a bigger problem than "cheating"...
Two other answers came from fellow agents, and one said that if he was doing it, he would go to a local lender who he trusts and then wire the money in US dollars, and then another agent suggested to go to a licensed Mortgage broker. This one went further and shared a «tactic» to tell the mortgage broker that he was shopping, to make mortgage broker more agreeable.
How do you like the tactics? What if all mortgage brokers will start teaching their customers to tell real estate agents that they are talking to bunch of agents, will that make real estate agents more agreeable on the price?
Pretty darn stupid...
What surprises me is that both agents had nothing to say, yet they volunteered to publicly expose little or no knowledge of the subject.
I guess it is because they think that they need to be in front of people all the time. Do they really need to be in their face if all they do is screaming «I am stupid»? I think if they kept their mouth shut, they look so much smarter.
