The variety of homes in New Olreans is really outstanding when you think that we are not that large a town. The historic homes are treasured now more than ever. Hi Eric, I was in New Orleans in July of 2010 (not long after your original post) and walked through the Garden District.  The homes and district are so beautiful.  It is fun to walk by and wonder who lives in the houses... now I know who lives in at least one of them.  Thanks for sharing this post!
