Use ActiveRain to Tell Your Story
I can remember as kids sitting in a circle, with one kid telling the kid next to them something, and then that kid told the next kid, and so on. After a couple of minutes the comment made its way full circle. When the last kid and first kid compared what was said, they weren’t even close to being the same thing.
Well guess what, the same thing can be said for the real estate business, especially the appraisal side of the things. There are many myths and half-truths that have been circulating about over the past couple of years. And frankly, I think appraisers need to do a better job of getting the correct word out; they need to take more time explaining and educating rather than just saying, “That’s just the way it is.” It's very unfortunate that the current climate, given all of the restraints put on appraisers, makes it even harder for appraisers to communicate with other real estate professionals, especially Realtors. That's why I think ActiveRain is such a valuable tool for communicating with other real estate professionals, especially Realtors.
Use ActiveRain to Set the Record Right
By blogging on ActiveRain, appraisers are free to discuss the issues and/or concerns, and are given a platform to set the record straight. And not to mention the opportunity to learn from others within the real estate business, and how they see things. There are over 200,000 members on ActiveRain, and unfortunately only a handful of them are appraisers actively taking advantage of this opportunity.
I’m fully aware that the current climate can be very hostile towards appraiser’s, but here on ActiveRain I’ve found that for every one person that tries to rain on my parade, there are literally dozens and dozens that want to understand and learn from what I have to say. And at the very least, most are courteous even if we disagree with each other. So if you find yourself feeling frustrated that you’re not being heard, or misunderstood, give ActiveRain a try. At the very least you’ll feel better about speaking your mind.
