One of my fondest memories as a little girl was selling poppies for the American Legion. As a little girl I would hang out there with my grandparents.
I would stand in front of the building and talk to every person that would come in and ask them to buy one of my poppies. Because I was so darn cute, who could resist? I sold lots and lots of poppies.
Sometimes I would get a glimpse of someone in uniform. The sight of a soldier in uniform seemed to comfort me.
I would get goosebumps..imagine that a human being willing to die for their country.... Our country..The United States of America.
Even at my age now, I get goosebumps when I see a soldier in uniform.
I think about what they believe in and what fights are important to them.
I think of the strength they have and I think of their families.
The thought can bring me to tears.
It may be because some of the greatest people I know at one time or another have served this great country.
Every time I recite the Pledge of Allegiance or sing the Star Spangled Banner I am reminded.
I have...because they fought for....and they gave us " FREEDOM!"
I honor all Military personnel....Support Our Troops!....Happy Veterans Day! Watch this video!
