As a former teacher, I understand how quickly school supplies can be depleted, especially when not all students start the school year with the appropriate supplies. In Charlotte, there are many organizations that donate supplies to the schools, including the Charlotte Regional Real Estate Association, but with the number of needy students that seems to be increasing, the donations haven't quite been enough this year. If you would like to organize a supply collection drive you can contact Sarah Porter at 704-377-1740, ext. 14 or at sarah@classroomcentral.org. A supply fundraiser would be a great event for a Realtor to organize. It's important to stay active in the community by giving back!
