I really like to go to the “traffic” tab in my back office on ActiveRain so I can see how many time my blogs have been clicked. I thought that it was really a great idea when they added the short URL tracking. As social media has become part of most of Americans everyday life it is important to see how effective we are there!
The “share” buttons have been added to the top of all of our blogs, makes it super easy to share them on whatever social media platform that you would like. But I have figured one thing out about those share buttons that you might like to take note of....
They are really there for us to “share” others blogs and for others to “share” ours! Why do I think this? Because, if you share your blog using those buttons you don't know if you are getting the traffic from twitter, etc like you would if you went to the bottom of your post and generated a short URL and shared the link.
I am sure if you do use the share button on your own post it is still showing up in the clicks total but wouldn't you want to see how many people, lets say on twitter, clicked??
Just food for thought......
