Total Property Sales for 2011: $7,468,900 That is $1,366,651 less revenue, not good news for our properties owners here.
In 2012 Avg. days on the market was 198 for HOMES up from 176 in 2011 99 days for LAND down from 147 in 2011 and 232 days for COMMERCIAL way up from 93 days on the market in 2011.
We are seeing an increase in numbers of home sales that are out of town of Franklin and out of Macon County due to the increase of Agents taking on foreclosures. Some are Agents out of the area who have joined our MLS board and list their properties that are in a area that is not in Macon County NC and some are Agents here that list home's that are out of Macon County Franklin, NC. Some Realtor's have a beef with this kind of activity and because this really obscures our numbers when it comes to local sales.
Whatever your thoughts are they are still in Western NC but just may not me in our county and there have been a few in North Ga. as well.

In 2011 there were 20 Foreclosures in our MLS 14 of those homes sold were NOT in Macon County, NC.
In 2012 there were 18 Foreclosures in our MLS 12 of those homes sold were NOT in Macon County, NC.
