So as I stated in an earlier blog entry, I am currently enjoying a few days at the beach. This gives me the time to do what I usually don't have the time to do - READ! Quite a problem for a published author let me tell you.
Anyway, one of the things I a reading that normally I NEVER read,, is this month's Realtor magazine.
I've already discussed the unbelievable league table of most requested information - which lead to my blog post Are agents responsible for the state of their own markets? - but now I want to discuss something else I have been talking about and frankly it is essentially the same subject - Realtors being responsible for their own success.
You see there is an interview in the very back of the magazine with Jack Canfield - author of "Chicken Soup For The Soul" and a whole variety of other "Chicken Soup" books.
Well now Jack has written "The Success Principles" and the interview is about that. Let's look at this Q&A:
Q. What elements are most people missing?
A. People don't understand the power of their own thoughts. What happens is most people are reactive thinkers. We're thinking thoughts in relation to something going on outside of us, and then we say that the outside condition is the cause of our current reality, when what is known for sure is that our thinking is what is creating current reality. So if I'm thinking negative thoughts I will start to create a resonance with everybody else in the community who's thinking negative thoughts.
Hmm - I know you have read that in the entries to this blog before. This is not simply positive thinking - this is The Laws of Attraction in action - how about this one?
Q. Are you optimistic about the state of the economy and the country overall?
A. The reality is there's always a way to react to the current environment to get the outcomes you want. There are still going to be houses bought and sold. People get transferred. People die. There are divorces. You want to be known as the person who can sell a house or can help buyers find the perfect house no matter what the market is doing. You've got to change your thoughts and visualize achieving the goal. Close your eyes and see the results you want. Feel the feelings you would feel if you already had that result.
Feeling your success. Imagining it. These are huge concepts to embrace, but embrace them you must if you are seriously interested in changing your level of success.
As for me - I guess I need another vacation because here is yet another book I need to find time to read!
