Grand Rapids has an amazing (and growing) variety of restaurants. From places that have the best bar burger imaginable, to the AAA Five Diamond Award winning Cygnus at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel and everything in between.
Because I've watch the transformation of dining options grow from a very basic meat and potatoes town (in the ‘80's) to a very diverse group of outstanding restaurants today, and because in my life before real estate, I spent 20-years in the restaurant business, I thought over the days and weeks to come, I'd post my observations of some of my favorites.
For me, it doesn't matter if it's the local diner or 1913, if a restaurant is delivering food and service that is appropriate for the type of establishment that claim to be, I'm a happy camper.
If an establishment holds themselves out to be fine dining, and delivers diner level service and presentation, they don't make a lot of points with me.
For the purpose of these blogs, understand that I'm only sharing restaurants that are my particular favorites. I've not dined in all of the hundreds of establishments available here so it would be impossible for me to include any that I've not experienced.
Feel free to add comments about your experiences at any of these establishments, because the more information for the reader, the better.
DISCLAIMER: I am not a food critic, and I don't play one on TV, but I do know what I like, and have had many relocation clients who have told me later that they appreciated and agreed with my assessment of various establishments.
