Showing It's True Colors

This Bradford Pear tree is located near the entrance of my subdivision, Greenbrier Pines.  It stands alone. The trunk of the tree is crooked, but I love this tree!  The beauty of this tree greets me everytime I enter my subdivision.  The first is a photo of the tree showing it's glorious Spring blossoms.  The second photo the tree is showing it's glorious rich autumn colors.

I know there are a lot of negatives about the Bradford pear, but I still love the blooms, and the shape.  Some builders plant Bradford pear trees because they grow fast, but are known to split easily in storms.  For now, I will enjoy the Bradford tree showing it true colors for Spring and Fall.

Rebecca - the Bradford tree is beautiful in the spring and the fall which isn't the case with most trees. Love your photos showing both seasons and personally, I take the positive over the negative and plant these in my yard!

What a difference the seasons can make.  And that tree proves it!  It would be difficult to say, which of the colors this tree displays is my favorite!

Rebecca, they are pretty trees, but as you suggest they do have issues.  I had a Bradford Pear in my back yard until the tornadoes of last April 27th 2011...I say had because it was snapped off at the base and thrown against my fence.

Ron and Alexandra, I agree with the trunk and the colors!

Kristine, I believe most people do take the positive over the negative and plant these trees as they are just beautiful.

Tony, thank you, I do as well!

Myrl, hard to decide both colors are awesome for the season.

Nick, did you plant another Bradford pear tree?

Rebecca-I love the changing color of the Bradford Pear and it would be worth the risk of splitting to have all that beauty. Excellent pics.

Rebecca,

Thanks for sharing sucn a lovely tree.  It is beautiful and if it needs a bit of storm shielding, maybe it could have companion wind-break trees?  It is a splendid sight!

Rebecca ...They are great trees if you thin them out up the middle once a year (they grow so thick that the wind can't pass through) ....Great photos!  Have a great day in WV!

Rebecca - We had those on our property in McDonough GA. I absolutely love them but they don't grow down here--to warm a winter, I guess. They are magnificent in bloom. Great pictures.
