I have been contemplating a new Camera purchase. My current camera is sufficient, but not for some of the things I want to try.
So I researched and called the person I know to be the best in this area...Richard Weisser...and settled on a style and make.
I read and read and read about what I was going to purchase. Then, I waited for a decent price.
Last week it hit and I was off to the races as they say. Walmart along with 4 other stores had the lowest price and they were only 10 minutes away.
"Hi" I greeted the kid behind the counter..."What can you tell me about this camera?"
"Well, umm, it's a Nikon. Its a digital. It only comes in black."
"OK...Thank You very much." Off I was to the next store. Best Buy, about 45 minutes away. Same question.
"Well this is an SLR digital made by Nikon. A very popular model. You would be very happy with this one."
On the road again. As I was heading to my a young man yelled for me...He said..."Hey man, (Gotta love kids now days) Go to National Camera just 4 blocks down the road.
National Camera! I had been looking for them but my searches didn't bring up a web site. I thanked the young man and headed to where I knew I could get help.
"Can I help you?" asked a friendly young lady as I walked to the counter.
"I don't know." I replied. " I am Old and going senile. If you can help me I WILL buy a camera from you."
She laughed and asked what I was looking for. I gave her the brand and model and she spent 20 minutes giving me a crash course. I asked the price...Same at Walmart!!! And every other big box store.
I am standing at the register wondering...How can I get Richard Weisser to give me lessons...at my home. Maybe a fish dinner and...I was interrupted.
The young lady asked me some questions as she was checking me out (not to closely I am old enough to be her father) She gave me some coupons for FREE...Yes I said FREE lessons they give for senile old men like me. Usually $50 a pop andI got 3 lessons.
That makes the deal well...much sweeter!
Once again the smaller store wins the game. And, if I could only find that nice young man that told me about the stores location...I would give him a lolly pop!
Although thsi is a nice photo...I am hoping the new camera brings a bit more life. I do know much of that will depend on myself.
