What is black when you buy it, red when you use it, and grey when you throw it away?

Well, Juli, charcoal seems to be leadng the charge, although for me it's the gas grill, and it just stops when the tank is done.
Yes, it's charcoal and I'm with so many of you - gas grill all the way - well MOSTLY.
