Milton MA Real Estate Market Report ~ First Quarter 2012

In case you have not heard, the real estate market is bustling. I have already looked at the real estate market in Canton MA for the first quarter of 2012.  Let's take a look at the real estate market in my home town of Milton MA
For the first quarter of 2012, there were 52 single family homes sold in Milton MA.*. The lowest priced home sold for $190,000.00 and the highest priced home sold for $2.5 million. The average sales price for that time period was $546,725.00. 
The chart below shows the number of homes sold in each price range.  The highest percentage of sales fell in the $400,000 and $500,000 price ranges.

For the same period in 2011, there were 36 single family homes sold in Milton MA. The prices ranged from $181,000.00 to $1.15 million. The average sales price for the first quarter of 2011 was $447,282.00. 
So, not only are sales up but prices are up as well.  Milton's real estate market is typically fairly stable  due to its proximity to Boston, good schools, plenty of recreational opportunities and open space, as well as being ranked the second best place to live in the US by Money Magazine
