Wanna Win MOre in '08? Ask for the sale

By
Real Estate Agent with The Fischetti Group/Keller Williams

It always amazes me that salespeople don't ask for the sale. Les than 1 in 5 salesperson actually asks for the sale during an appointment. If you want to succeed at greater levels in '08, ask for the business more. I realize that by asking you "might offend" but you pretty much guarentee you will not get the sale. I like the odds of asking over not asking.Try it you'll be amazed.

The number one reason the sale doesn't get made is we don't ask. We could all benefit from the teenage boy approach:

You know, the one for getting a date to the dance, you've gotta go ask, get a couple "nos", no big deal, keep trying to you get that "yes".

Are you asking enough? If not spend the next 10 days asking more and see what happens.

Happy selling!

Jim,

Isn't the old addage...Ask and you shall receive?....why wouldn't you ask when it is is about the most important reason of the meetting?

One of my favorite quips is "don't go show a house go sell a house"  Ask them to buy it.  It is as easy as "What would you pay for this house today"?  If the answer is not within a fair price why answer any more of their questions? Harsh Example:  How far does the property go back?  What does it matter, you are not interested.  If you could get this property for 20k less than list would you be interested?  Try selling....not showing!  We need more assertiveness!!  Thanks for the reminder

"Back to Basics", eh?  Seems so simple yet most agents don't do it.  I have asked sellers what made them choose me and they said, you asked for our business!

Go figure ...
