Ugly Handwritten Yellow Letters for Short Sales

If you are in a distressed property area then chances are you will get a hand written letter from a someone that claims to want to make a cash offer. The biggest targets are those in short sale situations, you don't need a guy writing letters you need a short sale specialist. s enough to make your jaw drop.
There are only two types of people using this scam. Scammers who want to get money from you or people who are in a worse situation than you are and bought a late night "webinar" product that suggested this was the most effective marketing technique. Real investors don't write hand written notes. Investors write solid offers often with proof of funds.

This kind of bull has been going around down here in Florida and I even get them all the time, but in the end, there are plenty of gullible people who read that garbage and fall for it.

More than gullible, they're desperate and probably a bit ashamed.  It's sad that there are people who want to take advantage.

Treat others as you would like to be treated

the idea behind them is to create a letter that someone will open, as many open their mail over the garbage can so anything that looks pre-printed gets tossed without being opened. I don't see what's wrong with it if there is a real estate professional behind it.  I know realtors who have made a lot of money sending weird unconventional letters to distress addresses because the people actually open the letter because it is unusual.

Stephan - Thanks for you comment.  I completely understand the idea of the letter is to get someone's attention.  However,  it's the way it's done and the content that is contained in it that I have a problem with it.  Not to mention that the majority of folks employing this technique are not helping the home owners they target.
