The Waterbus runs will be available from:

5pm to Midnight on Fridays

11 am to midnight on Saturdays

There will be a Special WaterBus service during the Summer Concert Symphonic Thursdays on July 12th and 26th as well as on August 9th and 23rd for concert goers, who prefer water transportation to and from the classical concerts.

There will be seven locations where passengers can board the WaterBus, basically covering the entire Marina.

The best part is ticket will be available for purchase at all boarding locations and the cost is $1 per person, one-way. Now if you are a regular user than you might want to consider the Season pass for $30.

If you would like more information about the schedule and boarding locations please call 310.305.9545 or visit www.marinadelrey.lacounty.gov.   or visit  http://www.marinawaterbus.com/

If you do not live near the Marina, there are parking facilities available at the Los Angeles County lots through  out  Marina Del Rey and the cost is minimal as well.

Hi Endre,

What a novel idea!

Seems cheap to me. How do they make a profit at that price?

Endre, I think the last time I was on a water taxi I was still in the Navy, so we've got some decades between then and now :)   Bill

Here in Naples we also have a water taxi.  Great way to promote all of the businesses on the water and eleviate the parking problem.  I've been to Marina del Rey many many times.  Great area.

I didn't know this existed.  My wife and I were just in The Woodlands, Texas, and they have a water taxi system as well.  Of course, that development is a lot newer than MDR.

Endre,
Living in the Puget Sound (that’s Seattle, Washington!) we are surrounded by water.  Can’t imagine living without a water taxi!  Then we’d be stuck using our longboards, skiffs, Zodiacs, et al.  But I’m partial to the taxi.
Will try it next time in town!

Endre - How cool is that a water taxi and the price to ride it at $1 a trip, or $30 for the season is a steal!

That's something new to me.  How great and WOW what a wonderful price.  This is a little fun thing that only someone local and in the "know" (as you are dear Endre) would know about.  Great post!

Roger, this is such a great convenience, we always complain in Los Angeles that we have to drive every where...not the case:)

Phil would you believe there is about a 250,000 usage per season

Bill, not  an everyday event:))

Michael it is always so much more relaxing when you are just a passenger!

Phil, how true and there are so many people who have never experienced it!

Laura it is a great way to get around if you do not want to move your car in the Marina.

Carla it is a great value if you prefer it to driving during the summer.
