My daughter Erin is going on a mission trip to Paraguay(with a group from church) and they are leaving Sunday after church. My wife made this same trip about 5 years ago and she said she would never be the same.
One of the things that touched my wife so much was the orphanage her group visited and ministered to. Another thing that my wife remembers vividly is the policemen on every corner with machine guns. There are other cops called traffic cops that will stop a vehicle for speeding although they are not speeding and expect a bribe from you to keep you out of jail.
We have a new family minister at church that just returned from being a missionary in Paraguay for 8 years. He and his wife are leading this team to Paraguay.I have complete confidence in Chris and his wife(who are also taking there small kids).
I have been on mission trips but never had either of my daughters go on one(especially without me). My wife and I would like to ask all my spiritual friends here to pray each day for 11 days for the safety and protection for Erin and her mission team.
