Don't forget to include a stop at Port Washington's Maritime Days as part of your summer fun this year! The festivities run from August 16-19. (Hours: Friday, August 17 and Saturday, August 18 -- 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Sunday, August 19 -- 10:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.)
Featured in this year's celebration, which commemorates Port's maritime history, will be Wisconsin's flagship, the Denis Sullivan, and the Madeline. Grab hold of the opportunity to partake in one of the day sails or deck tours on the Sullivan or sail from Milwaukee to Port Washington on August 16 or Port Washington to Milwaukee August 20. You can also take a deck tour on the Madeline.
Also included this year is the 2nd annual cardboard boat regatta. This event is sponsored by the Port Washington Yacht Club and takes place at 2:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
Looking for something to do on land? Check out the speakers and local conservation groups' displays. Or visit with the Coast Guar and Departmentn of Natural Resources. You can also find lots of entertainment with the Celtic music, and sea chanties, bluegrass, and folk music. Lots of other music can also be heard throughout the weekend. And of course, no festival is complete with plenty of food and beverages.
