Take off the "Salesmen" Hat and remember the reason we are here!

Sometimes we all get lost in the hustle and bustle of life and get focused on the all mighty dollar.  All we can think about is how are we going to make more money.  We have our money spent in our head before we even earn it.  We start talking to potential clients and thinking about them in dollar signs and what's best for us and not them.  Buy potentially forcing our clients down a certain path that we feel is best for them you may actually not only be killing that sale but many more to come.  We need to remember to treat people as you would want to be treated.  Ask questions listen to there responses.  If a homeowner truly wants to remain in their home we should do everything we can to help even if it doesn't lead to a commission.  Talking them into a short sale and turning them into a commission isn't always the right thing to do.

By taking off the salesmen cap and get to understand what people truly want is what its all about.  When your helping people make educated decisions on what they feel is best for them everyone wins.  They may not turn into a commission right now but they will remember that you helped them and have the confidence to bring others to you for advise and help as well.  By doing whats best for your clients now instead of looking for the quick commission is how you build a business that will last.
