Building Trust...

Through no apparent fault of our own, we find that many potential customers do not trust Realtors.  Not at all.

We all are lumped into a large box.  All of us!

Not fair!  Definitely not.  True though.

So the question is,  how do we disprove the myth?  And, the answer is One customer at a time.

We had an experience a few years ago where a man we knew through church choir approached us.

He said he had a "friend" who needed some Real Estate advise.  The "friend" wanted to sell a mobile home and move up.

We listened to the data we were provided and got prices together in the friend's neighborhood.

After a couple of weeks of bringing information to him at choir,  he confessed that he was the friend.  He then invited us to his house and a great friendship began.

He decided to trust us with his needs somewhere along the path.  The result of that relationship allowed us to sell his home, his fiances house and together they bought a home later.

It was a case of being in the right place at the right time.  It also illustrates the importance of being active and visible  in our community.

We can spend hours learning our skills.  We can also starve to death trying to share them!

Being active in our community is paramount in todays market.  Who you know is more important than ever.  How do you get known and trusted?  Being active and easy to find beats mailing or door knocking!  It is also less annoying and less costly.

The fringe benefit is that you get to take part in a myriad of community functions.  In the market we find ourselves in right now,  we need all the exposure we can get.

Won't it be fun when the general public considers Real Estate agents and Brokers trustworthy because of the accomplishments we are known to make in our communities!  It can happen!
