Check out this great rendition of our national anthem by the Madison Rising Band. The Madison Rising Band sings a version that will knock your socks off....it is definitely not a traditional approach as is Whitney Houston’s version, but a rendition of the national anthem with some rock.
If you go to the Madison Rising website, you will be impressed, not only by their music, but what they stand for.....From their website:
“Madison Rising brings great rock music back to the forefront of popular culture. With songs ranging from the guitar heavy opening track "Right To Bear," to the hauntingly epic sounds of "Honk If You Want Peace," to the beautiful violins of "Hallowed Ground," it is clear that this band is on a mission to not only make great music, but also send a message that American culture is alive and well. Madison Rising promotes the principles of liberty, independence, smaller government and personal responsibility."
Their music just may inspire a whole generation of young people to feel pride to be an American which is lacking right now in this country. Hmmmm, I think the CD would make a great Christmas stocking....what do you think?
Rebecca, I have a mixed view about the tune. I liked the beginning before it was slightly destroyed by the screaming portion. This is coming from someone that has over 1000 songs on my phone and have been going to rocks concerts since the mid 70's. I get the point, I just feel certain tunes don't or should not be tuned to distortion.

Rebecca: This is funny, but little ol' liberal me really does not like this. The first part wasn't too bad, although they were off key on a few notes, but when they started "rockin' and jammin'..." I couldn't turn it off fast enough.
I guess I just like it sung just the way it's always been. I don't even like the liberties that someone like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey takes with it. Just sing it, don't embroider it.
But... then again... I really liked what Whoopi Goldberg did with the Catholic hymns in the movie Sister Act... so my brain is not totally in the last century.
