Google Hangout Really Rocks! Shhh don't tell anyone but I am finally confessing and I am ready to come out of the closet. I have been a virgin when it comes to Google Hangout until this morning, 9am Mountain Standard Time. I missed my first hangout invitation from Eric Proulx so I was pleased to get another chance.
A friend and colleague Carra Riley invited me to hangout with a few virgins like my self and other pros on Google Hangout.
The experience was amazing, exhilarating and so much fun. Hanging out on Google was not all smooth and peachy either, there were a few technical difficulties.
First Encounter with the Unknown
First hiccup, I was the last to get there because I used the greenroom time to catch up on my real estate work, finishing up emails and a few phone calls. I got there only to realize I needed to install the plug in. (If you are using Google Chrome on mac, make sure you download the plugin, you never know when you will get an invitation). Its like been invited on a date and you not having your hair and makeup done that morning before leaving the house.
The Grand Entrance
So I get in the hangout and there is feedback and echoing in the background. I guess all the computers were happy to see I finally made it in.
I had to get muted and I tried to shut off my video feed to see if that would help but nah, the feedback and echoing will not give up.
And the Fun begins
Not only did I learn a lot, I got to finally meet a few connections I made on Google Plus live and it was so much fun to finally hear the voices behind the familiar names and see their personalities.
It was fun to watch everyone in the hangout all tuned in seriously listening but not forgetting to take sips of coffee.
Its all about hanging out
So I am glad to say with so much pride, I am no longer a virgin when it comes to Google Hangout. Try it with your friends, colleagues in your office so when you ever have to go live, you will not be a virgin.
